Walk out on the Okaloosa Island Pier and try your luck fishing, spend an afternoon with the dolphins at the Gulfarium, or let the kids loose at Big Kahuna's Waterpark.

Two resorts on Okaloosa Island have their own lazy river, and both show up in the condos below. Destin West & Bay Resort runs a 700-foot river through seven pools total, including a 5,000-square-foot pool with a kiddie area and a seasonally heated pool with its own waterfall; tubes are included, with no rental fee.

Waterscape's Lay-Z-River winds under a 10-foot waterfall past three resort-style pools, one of them a zero-entry pool with lily pads for younger kids, plus a separate toddler splash pad if the lazy river's too much for the littlest ones. Both properties add hot tubs to the pool deck: Destin West has three, two oversized ones on the bayside and one oversized tub on the Gulf side, while Waterscape has two on its main pool deck.
