Destin West - Pelican PH-02

We absolutely loved our stay! The condo itself was beautiful, clean, and exactly as listed. We loved all the room we had, both inside and outside. Having access to the rooftop was an added bonus. We typically spend most of our days at the beach, so we were nervous about the walk to the beach, but it was not bad at all! We did also enjoy the lazy river quite a few times. We will definitely be back!

From the moment we stepped into this Fort Walton Beach penthouse, we knew we’d found something special. The floor-to-ceiling windows open up to a panoramic view that feels like it was painted just for you.
The penthouse itself is immaculate and thoughtfully designed — feels luxurious yet welcoming. Waking up in the master suite with the ocean practically at your feet is an experience you can’t put a price on.
The balcony became our favorite spot, perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails with the sound of the waves. The location is unbeatable: steps away from the beach, walking distance to great restaurants, and a short drive to local attractions.
Service was top-notch — check-in was smooth, communication was prompt and friendly, and everything was exactly as described (if not better).
If you’re looking for the best of the best on Florida’s Emerald Coast, this penthouse is it. We left with our hearts full, our minds relaxed, and already planning our next trip back.

We've stayed at this resort before and it's a great room. Similar to previous rooms with the exception of stairs to go to the roof. The stairs are nice, but not as impressive as the larger PH with hot tub and all. We didn't stay up there, but that's because we went to my brother's room and went to his roof. So it is nice if you like to look out at night. The bed was great and I complained about the bed from my previous stay at this resort (different room). I wasn't in pain when I slept. They communicated super well and I appreciated everything about them. Really great stay and look forward to coming back.

Wow! What a view from the balcony! Loved the lazy river and hot tub, which was the reason we chose this location.
We had a great stay. Even having cable TV to watch the NBA games and Game Show Network was a fun, unexpected touch.
When a couple of small things came up Coastal Vibes was amazingly quick to respond as well as very understanding andhelpful! I would definitely stay with them again!!
They mentioned in their closing email that they have mountain locations and because of our great experience here we plan to look into that for our next vacation. 😊

Our stay was wonderful! The space was just as described and for 4 of us perfectly. Our kiddos loved the bunk beds and private bathrooms. The views are incredible and we loved sitting on the balcony listening to the music at the lazy river. The bridge to the beach was so nice and made hauling everything to and from a breeze.
Check in is my only complaint, we arrived early and checked on the room at 2:00. The inspector was present in the room but the housekeeping had not arrived. We came back at 4 with all our luggage and groceries we had ordered to the housekeeping and inspector still in the room. We had to wait outside for about 20 minutes until they finished up. Seems like no big deal but with 2 eager little ones, and after driving 15+ hours that’s the last thing we wanted to do!
Overall we will be back to Destin West Beach and Bay!

Had a great visit. Visiting family for the holidays and invited them over for Christmas Eve dinner. Plenty of room for everyone (9) to eat and socialize for a few hours. Invited grandkids over to swim, float in lazy river and enjoy the hot tubs (who doesn't enjoy a hot tub?!) Had a small issue with condo (mother nature event) but contacted Coastal Vibe Vacation and had a positive response back within minutes. Definitely recommend this place.

Place was as described! Communication was excellent from the very beginning! I would definitely use coastal vibe vacation rentals again. The amenities were superb. There were 5 women on a girls trip and we enjoyed the lazy river and pools and beautiful sunshine so much! Walked across the skywalk for dinner at the boardwalk which was convenient. Area traffic was little congested because of construction but that would be the only “issue” I would say we had! 10/10 recommend.

This is our third stay at Destin West. We enjoyed this room. The view from the balcony and top porch was amazing. The room had everything we needed. Four people was the perfect fit. Being in the Pelican building made getting to the last river and bay simple. WiFi was great. The outside furniture was polywood- and not a comfortable place to sit for a long time. But as I am looking at outdoor furniture for my home- I'll buy polywood for durability and add cushions. That is very picky. But coffee and a beer outside or playing cards and talking… should be enjoying the beautiful views.

Our week at the beach was perfectly spent at David’s place! The staff at Destin West were super nice and always helpful. David was also a responsive host with any questions we had. The lazy river/pool area was the hit for our kids and super convenient to get to. The beach is a little bit of a walk for two toddlers and beach stuff but totally doable. Overall, a great trip our family will remember and we would go back to David’s place in a heartbeat.

Other than a couple hiccups, our stay was excellent. The owners/management company addressed some very small issues with professionalism and immediately. By the way, the wagon is non functional with weight in it. The handle slides out and makes for a challenge when going to and from the beach. Beautiful unit with a roof top patio and grill.

Condo was great! Very clean. Only kitchen issue I saw was to maybe stick a cookie sheet? Bunk bathroom had a broken toilet seat upon arrival. It was not an issue. Lots of rain and wind the week we stayed. We had a lot of water run in under the front door. We used towels to keep it dry. Just FYI….others in our group said they had to do the same in their condo. Also, my daughter accidentally brought home two wash clothes and a hand towel. We will pay for those. Overall great condo, beautiful view and we could come back. Thank you Emily Boles

Absolutely loved the Penthouse condo! Destin West Bayside is a great resort with the lazy river and skywalk to the beach. The condo was great for our party and the rooftop grill allowed us to easily host other friends who were staying nearby. We come to Destin yearly and will definitely be back to this condo. The kitchen had everything we needed to make the stay feel more at home.
David was a great host. His emails for check-in and check-out were super helpful and he responded within hours if we needed anything during our stay.

Our stay at Destin West Bayside was everything we hoped for and more. Location is great! Bay out the front balcony and gulf waters just a short walk over the highway via Airwalk. The pool area with the lazy river was loads of fun and relaxing way to cool off. Short drive to FWB for groceries or to Destin for restaurants. Also several restaurants within walking distance of resort. Condo was clean, comfortable, and as described. Internet was a little spotty in main bedroom since the router is in living area. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing stay with tons of fun!

Our family of 5 had a great stay at Pelican PH-02! This was our first trip to Destin and we spent a LOT of time researching places to stay. I’ll include all of the details to hopefully help others: Resort/ Location: - With kids the bay side is the place to be, easy access to lazy river that we used daily. Lazy river and pool on the bayside were very clean and well maintained. Plenty of tubes and we never had to fight for a table or chairs. - Parking was easy and we always found a covered spot. - Resort is close to grocery, shopping, and restaurants. Rockin Tacos and Crab Trap are walking distance across the sky bridge and were a hit. - Area here not as congested as downtown Destin. We went downtown a few times, but the traffic there was pretty bad. PH-02 Unit: - Top floor pent house had beautiful evening views and the kids loved it. The grill was clean and easy to use. Two chairs on top were comfortable but one needed replaced. - Plenty of cooking utensils and supplies in the kitchen, very well stocked for cooking. - Great space, the bonus room with bunks was perfect for our two boys with the second bath right off of there. - Pull out couch was clean and fine for a teenager to sleep on. - Sheets and towels were bleached white and very clean - Floors were obviously mopped but there was still a black residue that got on our feet the first night from them. They leave plenty of cleaning supplies so I just wiped the floors good with cleaner and paper towels real well the first day and we were fine from there. - Tables and chairs on porch comfortable and they provide a TON of beach supplies. Two great beach chairs, wagon (needs replaced soon one wheel is dragging), and an umbrella plus boogie boards and toys for kids. - Walls we’re pretty beat up, lots of scuff marks on the bunks beds, and carpet in the family room pretty stained. Just needs a new coat of paint. - Large 58” Roku TV was awesome for a movie night when it was rainy. - Super clean fridge and all the paper and cleaning supplies you need to get started. - This unit has more privacy than some because the balcony is bumped out. Our in-laws were in the unit next door and we could see into their bedroom from our balcony table. Coastal Vibes was extremely responsive when we had questions. Within minutes you would hear back.. great company and would definitely use them again for future stays. Overall we had a great vacation. Would highly recommend and stay again!!

I highly recommend staying here, the condo/property is very convenient and has copious amount of parking.
We had so much fun here. Easy access to all amenities.
The host provides a few detergent packets for the washer so pack less clothes is a recommendation I have. It is way easy to just throw clothes in the washer and use them and save space.
Very little noise heard once inside the condo.
365 degree view of water from the gulf to the bay once on top of the deck.
Even though it was cold and rainy during our stay we still had a great time and definitely will be back!!

Destin West is a great location with many good restaurants, shopping and activities near by. It is an easy walk to the beach, and the pool area with the lazy river is a great alternative if you want to keep it closer to the condo. There a great views of the bay from the balcony and the gulf from the rooftop terrace. I would absolutely rent again as the process was easy and its a short 20 min trip from the airport.

Pros to this unit: My husband and I traveled alone. It was perfect for that. Very quiet. No check in. We were able to get covered parking daily. Carts are provided to carry things up to unit. Stayed for one week in the penthouse. Roof top is amazing. Breezy. SUNNY. A grill. 360 views. Sky bridge makes for fun easy access to the beach and restaurants if you don’t mind a walk. We drove cause the street stayed busy. Fully stocked kitchen. Use bottle water for coffee. Having 2 bathrooms was nice. Shower stayed hot forever. Lots of towels. The king sized bed was a plus as we have a queen. With an extra blanket to carry around the unit. My sunburn had me freezing. But…
Cons: the master bedroom stays lit up at night, with no curtains, from the outside light directly on the wall across from the window. You hear every car driving car. Every AC unit that comes on. They are located on the roof adjacent to the unit. The towels smelled like the unit. Old. Some water spots and couple places where texture is peeling on the ceilings. The beaches aren’t private. There is no bar at the lazy river. It was too cold to get in last week of April anyway. The waterfall was never on at the pool.
Overall we were very pleased and enjoyed ourselves. But we will look somewhere else for next year.

This property PH-02 and location was excellent. Location was extremely family friendly (beach, dolphins in the bay, lazy river, pools). Property was as listed and very clean. Had all that was needed. Recommend that whoever stays at this property follow David's recommendation -multiple meals eaten at Stuby's - excellent place for seafood | boat ride with Capt Gary was very enjoyable; highly recommend.

Once again CoastalVibes did not disappoint! Pelican PH-02 was perfect for the 2 of us! Tons of thick, fluffy white towels, rooftop view of the gulf and the beautiful pool area of Destin West! Perfect little bistro table and chairs on the balcony overlooking the pool and lazy river! Condo is painted a beautiful ocean aqua with fun beach wall decor...the bedroom and “bunkie” both have ocean themed comforters & pillows. The location of Destin West is great! Several restaurants on the Boardwalk just across the street...best bar/restaurant is right next door: Dock on the Bay! They have Karaoke, Dueling Pianos, live music and good food...pontoon rental, too! The beach! Oh my gosh! Words are inadequate! This was our 4th year with CoastalVibes at Destin West..we are booked for next year and can't wait! Thank you David Jenn and Team! You're the best!

We had a wonderful time in Destin while we stayed at the Pelican PH-2 condo. The location is excellent - easy walk to the beach, Okaloosa boardwalk & pier (great food/drink options), easy drive into Destin & Ft Walton. We highly recommend checking out the local breweries- Destin Brewery, Ft Walton Brewing Co/Crab Island Brewing Co & Props Brewery. The Back Porch in Destin was a beautiful lunch spot! The condo was clean & exactly as described/pictured. We enjoyed the balcony over-looking the bay & watching all the kids (& adults!) enjoy the lazy river & pool. The rooftop was a nice spot for sunsets! We appreciate the communication from David & property management team. They provided many suggestions & things to do prior to our stay, & made check in & out a breeze! Thank you for sharing your condo with us! We look forward to our next visit to the Emerald Coast!

We had a wonderful vacation in the Pelican PH02. The views from or balcony and rooftop were amazing! We love the lazy river and fishing from the new marina. The night time views are even more amazing. The condo is well furnished and felt very welcoming and comfortable. David was attentive and available to make sure we had the best stay possible. There are great restaurants right across the street. You have to go to Floyd's Shrimp House for the AYCE fish and shrimp. We will absolutely book with Coastal Vibe Vacation again.

We spent a week in this condo while staying in Florida for my daughter's softball tournament. The condo is exactly as advertised. Spacious, clean and the owners were very easy to work with. The rooftop grill is a fantastic added feature. Highly recommend staying here. The softball team may be traveling here again in the future and we would definitely recommend this condo as a fantastic place to stay.

We had a blast as usual staying at Destin West. It has so many amenities! Too many too list that we enjoyed. This condo has a special place in our heart. 10 yrs ago we got married on Okaloosa Island at Beasley park and we stayed and had our honeymoon here. I surprised my lovely bride with a revisit to the same condo for a long weekend get away to celebrate those 10 yrs. The condo had everything we needed. The grill on the top deck was nice for the afternoon cookout and a movie. The cart for going to the beach was a life saver. That was really awesome and easier on my back! lol. We will definitely be back for many years to come!

We absolutely loved Destin West. The kids had a great time playing in the lazy river and splash garden. The view over the lazy river and bay was gorgeous. We especially loved that we could walk to the boardwalk for dinner and then across the street for some mini golf. So many choices and you don't even have to drive! The owner was a pleasure to work with and the condo was comfortable and clean. Will definitely be back!

We loved Destin West in Okaloosa Island. It was not so busy as Destin but you can drive out there for shopping and dinner. David's condo was great with amazing view of the bay and great pool. Great location, beach, and so much fun in lazy river .. My 2 year old wanted to go back to lazy river again when we got home. :) Loved the roof top deck as well.

For this being our family's first "beach" vacation, I think we started at the top! We got settled in fairly quickly, and had a hard time pulling the kids away from either the pools or the beach for nap times! The condo size was perfect for our family of 4. The views were amazing and the kids always got excited when a "big boat" went by in the bay! The area has so much to offer in terms of activities and mostly good food! And you know it's a successful vacation when on the last day our 4 year old starts crying because we have to go home...and then when we are 5 minutes from home (a 9 hour drive) she asks for us to turn around and go back to our beach trip! ...yeah, I'm ready to go back too!

Traveled with my family last full week of March. The condo was beautiful and fit all of our relaxing needs while we were there. We love the roof top and grill, highly recommend using it as much as you can. The cross walk bridge was wonderful while getting back and forth to the beach. The condo has a cart to tote all your beach needs, awesome. The reservation process was simple and when I had questions prior to arrival, David Jenn was great in getting me the info. The resort was awesome. The heated pools were fabulous and the lazy river was a hit with my children. I am planning on using either this unit again next year or one of David's other units if we travel with a larger group. Thanks for the awesome stay!

Out of all the places I visited both in and out of the military, this was the best. I was born and raised in south Florida, and swore I would never return. However, this vacation reminded me there is still hope for the sunshine state! David was incredibly helpful and forthcoming with valuable information, on a timely manner. He provided everything we could need, and the PH-O2 condo was outstanding. Up until then I had not been a fan of condos, but it is so very well furnished and taken care of. Unbeatable views to wake up to, so much space, everything is within close proximity. We loved it! We stocked up some groceries the day of check-in, and were able to come and go as we pleased, made use of the kitchen and grill, the huge amount of space, and the location, to make it an excellent time. We tried to pick a date that a) my fire chief would give me time off for, and b) that would keep us from smashing into the spring break crowds, and I loved the fact that the place wasn't packed. The lazy river, pools, hot tubs, and easy access to the ocean and bay on either side of the road was outstanding. I definitely hope we can come back soon! Perfect for anyone looking to shop, try great food, spend a family or romantic trip together, and all ages of kids. I definitely was impressed with the level of accessibility. My girlfriend had recently had hip surgery, and this was not an issue, with the elevators to the top floor and pool deck, as well as wide spaces in and out of the condo, definitely no problem for those with disabilities! All in all, a fantastic trip. My only regret is that it could not have been longer. Alas, the real world calls us all back at some point!

We loved everything about this condo!! The location is great! My 2 boys ages 7 and 5 really enjoyed being on the bay side where you can swim in waist deep clear water and catch fish and snorkel. We rented jet skis and a pontoon boat through Luther's watersports. I highly recommend them. Very nice people and great prices. We took the boat out to crab island and saw dolphins and caught tons of fish. The boys LOVED the inflatable playground on the water. It cost about $15 for an hour per person. We had awesome seafood at Boshamps and Dewey Destins. The condo had everything we needed to feel right at home. Sunsets from the roof top were great! The lazy river and pools were awesome! I think traveling when we did was the best. We missed the summer crowds but still had the warm summer weather. We will most definitely be back to the Pelican Penthouse!

We had a wonderful vacation and this condo was a wonderful place to stay!! It was exactly as expected based on the descriptions. My husband LOVED the rooftop grill for cooking dinner every night. The night time breeze to relax on the rooftop was great as well. The resort is a little spread out with a walk to the beach, however, this wasn't a problem for us (those with toddlers might want to consider the walk). We loved the beautiful lazy river and the access to the Ramada property pool and splash pad was a very, very nice! We will definitely consider coming back in the future!

My family and I have stayed in this condo 2 years in a row. It is in a perfect location with the bay on one side and the beach on the other. We love it here. Condo is clean, furniture is comfortable, kitchen is stocked with whatever dishes are needed, and the grill is wonderful. The owner was available and quickly responded to any questions we had. With my husband not being a big fan of the sun, we used the lazy river and sightseeing during the heat of the day and the beach in the afternoon-evening. We are a huge fan of SeaQuest dolphin cruises. We shopped at Destin Commons, Alvin Islands, Sun and Surf. We ate at AJ's, Floyds, and Stewby's. The kids had fun at Big Kahuna's waterpark with the cyclone and some sort of bungee cord ride. Overall we love it here and would definitely come back and do it all again. We would also recommend this condo to anyone looking to rent a comfortable, clean home away from home.

We really enjoyed the condo and will definatly return. We loved the whole condo, it was beautiful and clean, very well laid out for convenience. We loved the decor and the furniture was very nice! We absolutly loved the views from the balcony and the rooftop especially at night when the pool area was lit. The kids loved the lazy river and pool and we did as well. We appreciated the dishes and the household items that were provided. The area attracrions were great, we enjoyed the boardwalk, harborwalk village and the seablaster boat dolphin ride! David Jenn was great to work and quick to respond to any of our needs. We highly recommend this condo to anyone for family vacation! We got married on the beach and had this as a family vacation/ honeymoon and will have amazing memories!

We had an amazing time staying at Destin West. There was something for everyone in the family to do without leaving the resort. The condo had everything we needed to cook and grill out. Perfect size for our family. The views of the bay were beautiful. We sat on the balcony everyone morning with coffee; great way to start each day! The 4th of July fireworks were very enjoyable from the rooftop patio. We were able to see multiple firework shows at once. The owner was great to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. We hope to stay again.

The only issue we had was that we went out and bought 3 pounds of shrimp, put them on skewers and put them on the gas grill on the roof and ran out of gas 10 minutes into cooking. So we had to finish in the oven. Which of course did not taste as well but at least we had a way to cook them. Fudpuckers next door was great except they close to early. Harry T's was our favorite restaurant. Property was very clean and was exactly as described.

We decided to try a new beach this year and was told about Fort Walton, I searched several condos and ran across Destin West so I narrowed it down to atleast the place but couldn't decide on the unit...THEN, I found this one! I am so glad that I found this condo, we had a blast!! The upper level was so relaxing in the evening overlooking the lazy river, we grilled up there most nights that we were there! The condo is well stocked with everything needed, very nice furnishing and comfy beds. We hope to return next year :)

Stayed in penthouse condo on the bayside of Destin West. Over-highway walkway to beachfront was great. Unit was perfect for what we wanted: lovely views, solid amenities on the property. Owner was great to work with, all information was accurate, timely, helpful, appropriate. Just an excellent value on the best beaches in the US. Highly recommend. Stewbie's Seafood Shack in FWB is superb, as is Goatfeathers in South Walton. the Pontoon rental company next door is very good to work with.

This condo was absolutely perfect for my husband and I. It was as nice as the description stated, and exceeded our expectations. We loved the location of the resort, it was perfect for us. I am one of those who really worries about a place being clean, the linens, dishes, shower, etc. and I will say I felt very comfortable in this tastefully decorated spacious condo. The owner was very quick to respond to any and all of our questions either by email or phone. I would highly recommend staying here. The shopping on the boardwalk was great, the beaches and pier was wonderful, the Lazy river was very serene after a day at the beach in the sun. We tried the Crab Trap...it was just ok. Fudpuckers was our football night and if you go there ask for Cat, she was a great server, and the food was really good. In Destin we ate at the Back Porch, loved it too.

We enjoyed our stay at Destin West. We vacationed with two other families which stayed at the gulf side. They admitted that our view from the penthouse was far better than their view (ours at a lower price). The Owner was very responsive to any inquiries that we had. The Owner also worked with us to supply a grill on the upper deck, which was awsome to cookout on at sunset. There was always a breeze on the upper deck which made sitting on top comfortable. All check in and paperwork was done with the owner before we left home, no check in, keys, etc. at condo, just go to your room (awsome). The numeric locks ment no keys to loose or keep up with. We took our boat and fished, went to Crab Island (awsome) and went sight seeing. Although we kept our boat at a local marina, there were several boats anchored in front of the condo which would be a cost saver. The condo itself was clean, nicely decorated and had everything needed and all in good working order. The complex and pools are very well kept. Grocery store close by and can walk to a resturants. The only complaint we could have at no fault of the Owner or Complex was that there seemed to be a lot of traffic on the Island and in Fort Walton. We believed that an adjustment on the timing on the redlights would eliminate that though. Very enjoyable vacation and cannot say enough about the Owners determination to make your stay hassle free and enjoyable.

We were thoroughly impressed with this condo! It is actually a bit more roomier than expected. I feel the owners respresented the condo perfectly. Thank you! We are a family of 4 with 2 daughters...may not be as ideal for family with 1 son/1 daughter mainly because the second sleeping area is a set of bunks. Our girls ages 12 and 9 LOVED the bunk room with it's own bathroom. There is a sleeper sofa in living room area but may inhibit early morning coffee breaks with kids sleeping out there. I would suggest bringing the following: extra toilet paper! 2-3 dish rags/dish towels (none provided at condo) extra paper towels and napkins dryer sheets...no compartment for fabric softner Other than the above the condo was supplied to meet our needs for a weeks stay. Very nice grill on rooftop. Cleaniliness-We felt the condo was properly cleaned upon our arrival. I did notice within the cabinets some dusty shelves & kitchen bowls, etc. Probably not used a lot...not a big deal but make sure you check to properly clean before use. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this condo! We enjoyed our stay here! Away from HEAVY Destin traffic but still close to everything. We had 3 straight days of bad weather :( but still found things to do nearby.

We had a great "girls getaway" week here!! We loved the condo. It was just as represented in the pics and information - clean, comfortable, with all the cooking utinsels you need (except they do need a new can opener). We loved our view of the lazy river and the bay, both day and night. (At night the lazy river is lit up so beautifully!!) We sat on the balcony in the early mornings with our coffee and watched dolphins playing in the bay and then sometimes opened the patio door so we could hear the water fall in the lazy river - very soothing. The pools, grounds, parking and so on of The Destin West facility itself was also very well maintained. But ... we were there for the beaches and I'm here to tell you, you need never go to the caribbean again!! THE BEACHES ARE STUNNING! We also enjoyed The Harbor Walk Marina just over the bridge to Destin - fun shops, great restaurants and people watching, especially in the evening when the boats come in from fishing excursions. David and Jessica - you were both great to deal with. Thanks for all your help (emails and texts) in answering all my questions promptly. I would definitely stay here again, if I get the chance.

We had a wonderful week at the Condo. Besides going to the beach and walking the boardwalk, we spent hours floating on the condo's exclusive Lazy River EVERY afternoon. There are so many things to do in the area, and we were particularly impressed with the many neat restaurants on the water towards Destin.Besides all the comforts of home, the Condo's top floor (a floor above the condo itself) was available to enjoy sunsets, sunbathe or take in a 360 degree view of the area. We also really liked Sandestin’s "Village of Baytowne Wharf", a large pedestrian village which features many specialty merchants, boutique shops, eateries and nightclubs.
