Destin West - Pelican 605

We had a long weekend stay for Fall Break, with 2 adults and 2 teens. Kitchen is well stocked with basics for preparing quick meals. Balcony overlooks lazy river and out to Bay. Skybridge makes the walk to the beach easy. The Okaloosa Island Boardwalk and Pier are a quick walk down the beach. The Island has beach service for snacks and drinks when you rent the beach chairs. Check in and out was simple. I used Walmart+ delivery and DoorDash and had no issues getting our items delivered to the door. Nice condo in a great location with lots of amenities and nearby restaurants and attractions! We would stay here again!

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The beds weren’t the most comfortable but the condo was really clean. The owner responded to messages promptly. We were looking forward to the large bathtub having jets but we discovered it did not when we arrived. The view from our balcony was beautiful and the facility has wonderful amenities.

We had a wonderful time and the condo was very clean, decorated well and comfortable beds! We had plenty of space for our family of 5 (we honestly could have slept 8 comfortably!) We were at the pool/lazy river almost every day; such a pretty view from the balcony. Well stocked with a few essentials before we arrived (TP, paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent etc). Easy/safe access to the beach from a pedestrian sky bridge over the highway. Already planning to return for family vacation next year!

We decided to spend the Christmas holiday at the beach. We asked the kids which beach they wanted to go to, and of course it was Fort Walton! We have stayed at Destin West previously and love it. 605 Pelican was the best condo we stayed in thus far :). Very clean. Well stocked kitchen and the beds were very comfortable too. Destin West Resort offers the best of both worlds, the beautiful bay and access to the ocean. Check-in was quite simple. Check-out was just as easy. Overall a wonderful experience, celebrating The holiday with the people that mean the most :)

We enjoyed our stay at Pelican 605. It was clean and the view was wonderful. We did have a problem with the dishwasher that was able to have a temporary fix until a new one could be put in after our stay. The response to our problem was very quick. We gave it a 4 for location because you weren’t able to walk around to many locations due to traffic and current construction. Maybe a sidewalk is being put in that would make that easier. The condo itself was very nice and the pools were wonderful!

This place was amazing!!!!! The pool area was awesome! My kids loved it!!! You can walk to restaurants and shops! Very well located!! We came for baseball tournament, but was able to find time for pool/beach/family time!! Highly recommend this condo!!! Stunning views, very clean, beautiful and had everything you need! We would definitely stay in this condo again!!! Very spacious master bedroom and bathroom! The kids loved the bunk beds! One of the cleanest condos we have ever stayed in!! Lots to do in Destin- only 7 minutes away is Harbor Village- lots of things to do! Our friends recommended Sea Blaster- sunset dolphin cruise- 10/10!!!! So much fun!! If you are looking for a beautiful condo- definitely stay here:)!

The elevator wasn’t too busy during our stay for getting to the skywalk to access the beach side with wagon/kids. The proximity to the boardwalk for dining and shopping was nice and convenient. Especially at night when that area was lit up! This was our first experience at a Condo and this was the best experience we've ever had on vacation. We would love to return again in the future!! It was quiet, clean, comfortable, inviting, convenient, and just beautiful!!! It was so nice to have a beach wagon available loaded with chairs, umbrella and boogie boards for our girls. The beach, sand, and weather were absolutely wonderful during our stay. We were able to get groceries when we arrived at an awesome grocery store only minutes away, as well as the liquor store. We were able to get a few supplies for the kitchen/bathroom, and we were good to go for the rest of the week. FIVE STARS!!! Thank you for such an amazing stay...!!

The condo was fresh and clean. The basics it provided were exactly as described in the listing. The view of the lazy river was so pretty! We loved the proximity to the more local- feeling restaurants in Fort Walton Beach. The drive to Destin is quick midday, but avoid the drive during the long rush hours!

This is our 5th time staying in the Pelican building and I can say this unit was an absolute dream to rent. The owners thought of everything for an enjoyable stay, it was neat, clean and uncluttered. There was only 3 of us but if there had been someone to sleep in the bunk, the bottom bed is a full size, AMAZING. It is a bit smaller than the previous 8 sleeper unit we stayed in, but all of the furniture was proportional and would've suited 8 guests perfectly. This unit was right in front of the elevator which was convenient. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Coastal Vibes!!!

Loved this condo! It was a perfect location convenient to both the pools, lazy river and the beautiful gulf side beach. There was no shortage of things to in the area. The condo was very clean, well-stocked and nicely decorated with beachy decor in every room. We really appreciated the wagon, chairs and pool toys provided for the beach. I was very impressed with how responsive Coastal Vibes was throughout the entire process. They provided us with everything we needed to know before our trip. We will definitely book with them again!

Our first time staying at Destin West and it was wonderful! The room was exactly as described and as the pictures showed. Any questions we had were answered quickly. The pools and lazy river were so great! We booked beach umbrellas and chairs before we went so they already had our name on them every morning. The room had a wagon to take all of our stuff to the beach, which was so helpful! Never had any issues finding parking. Just an overall great experience!

We had a great stay at the Destin West-Pelican 605 unit. The view of the bay and pool area is beautiful! The condo was clean, nicely decorated, and well supplied. The only thing I found disappointing was that the closet in the master bedroom was locked and not usable. As a vacation rental owner myself, I understand the owners needing locked closet space, but I would suggest adding some type of hanging space somewhere in the bedroom.

The cleaning folks hadn't done a very good job with the floors nor one bathroom. We called management and they had someone there the next day (we cleaned everything in the mean time). The place was comfortable and very well situated. The Grandkids had a blast going from beach to pool to other pool; as did the rest of us.

Had a great time during our stay. Condo was very nice and clean. Only negative was one day there were painters painting the outside trim and the door entrance to the condo. We were not notified this was going to happen and when we opened the door ( from the inside), unfortunately I was not aware and brushed against the door and my shorts and shoes now have paint on them that cannot be removed. In addition, one of the painters became very belligerent when I questioned him about the incident. Other than this one incident our stay was very enjoyable.

The location was perfect, close to great restaurants and you can literally walk to go karts/mini golf/activities. The condo was just what we needed. Everything was very clean and tidy upon arrival. The view cant be beat, sitting on the porch with the view of the pool and the bay was perfect with a cup of coffee in the morning. We had a slight issue with the WIFI but David was quick to respond and help us gain access. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future vacations in the area.

We had a really lovely family vacation. The hosts were great communicators. The resort accommodations were very nice for a family with young kids. Easy walk to the beach from the bay side and a really convenient drive from the airport. We loved the pools and lazy river. The only little thing was that the flooring wasn’t the cleanest upon arrival. I had to mop the floors myself to avoid tracking the dirt and sand which was a little disappointing but there was a vacuum and a mop available. We would definitely book again.

We loved this property. Great location to walk to shopping , good food , boat rentals, and the beach. We preferred the gulf side that this condo offered as you are more protected from the wind and very easy to go to the beach with the skywalk. The lazy river is fabulous and the heated pool is perfect for any temperature it may be outside. You will need a car or an Uber to go into Destin but it’s worth the trip. If you need anything the owners get back with you in minutes. Thanks David for a very memorable vacation, we will be back!!!
