Destin West - Gulfside 404

We had a nice stay here. It was close to the pool and beach. Also, there is a lazy river that is part of the resort just a short walk across the pedestrian bridge to the other part of the resort property.I really liked the convenience of the parking garage at my level, so we didn't have to use elevators coming and going form the resort.

We came down March 12-16 and during this time a line of terrible storms came through. With the 30mph winds and some rain, we still had an amazing time. The condo is great, the staff is great, the beach is beautiful and the atmosphere from town is great! There are so many options on where to go, what to do and where to eat. Everything is in close driving distance and some within walking. The condo has everything you need and more. It has a great ocean view. The pools are huge! We will be back!

We normally stay at the Island Resort next door, but decided to give this a try since it had more space and we like to cook and feel at home. Well, it did exactly what we hoped for! We did expect to have another couple stay and share the expense, but they had to bail last min, but it was still worth it for us. Other than the June grass that lingered heavily preventing the usual clear water we're use to, it was a wonderful experience! We come every year so this will be one to book again!

We've been staying at Destin West for about 15 years and worked with many owners and rental agencies. Coastal Vibes has been outstanding, seeing that all of our needs were met. We had one small issue and the maintenance staff was amazing. This was the first time we stayed in 404 Gulfside and we absolutely loved it. Everything was clean and organized and there were empty cabinets so we could put our food in. It's very obvious that the owners and Coastal Vibes take great pride in maintaining this home for others to enjoy! We will be back soon!

We’ve stayed at this resort multiple times. This location was perfect for a quick walk to the beach! Elevators were located around the corner, the beach and pool access were right there, and the condo had all the necessary beach accessories. We forgot an ice chest and a chair, and they had one as well as all the sand toys, and extra board, and more. The condo was absolutely GORGEOUS with a great view of the beach and pier. We would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for the 4 of us. It was super clean and well equipped.

The inside is beautifully decorated, has comfortable beds, an excellent view of the pool, and the ability to see the ocean. Everything is provided that you could need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gulfside 404!! The view is beautiful from the balcony and we loved dining outside while enjoying the sounds of the ocean. The unit was well decorated, clean, and provided many of the essentials we needed for the week. We traveled with two young kiddos, who loved the extra sand toys that were provided, plus the toys we purchased and left for the next family to enjoy. The beach wagon was a nice perk and allowed us to bring all sorts of things to the beach more easily. We took full advantage of the complimentary beach chair set up that was provided for us through Coastal. We had smoke alarms go off in the middle of the night that were faulty and I contacted the management team; the next morning they came and replaced all of the smoke alarms for us. All in all, we were very happy with our entire stay and will hopefully be able to book again soon for another trip back to Destin/Fort Walton. It's truly a vacation we won't forgot! The view and location of Destin West 404 is amazing! We had a wonderful time, and the condo was perfect. It was very clean, and stocked with everything 2 families need for a week. The rooms are a nice size, and the extra single sofa sleeper in the king room was a bonus. Everything is updated and wonderfully decorated. It has a large deck where we were able to store all of our beach 'stuff'. The washer and dryer were very handy...We are definitely booking this condo again. Thanks David!

This condo had plenty of space and had the best view of the pool and ocean! We couldn't have been closer to the New Year's firework show. The bathrooms were beautifully renovated and the kitchen was spacious allowing for good meals to be cooked by multiple people at one time. We absolutely plan on coming back next year!

It's the perfect place to get away! Everything is exactly as it says and looks in the listing. The place is clean and well stocked. The host provides a "starter pack" of essential items so need to rush out to the store. A detailed welcome email contains all of the needed info so there is nothing to worry about.

This condo was awesome!! It was in a great location that made it really close to the beach but also close to the pools, hot tubs and the parking structure. We didn't venture out much (since there is so much to do right there at the resort) but everything we tried was great and super convenient. The condo itself was extremely comfortable and clean. Our family of four had space to ourselves as well as plenty of room in the common areas to come together to cook meals and watch movies. We sat on the balcony most nights and just listened to the waves. I really didn't think we'd use the beach service that came with the reservation but we did end up using it and we loved it. The guys that took care of us were wonderful and it made spending time at the beach so easy. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to the area!!

The condo had everything and anything we could/would desire! Location was great and we loved the decor. Our family of four had great room to spread out and enjoy the space in the evenings after a great day enjoying the area. David and his team were great with any and all requests that we had. We love having the beach service included as it makes the daily pack up to go down the the beach so much easier, simply let the life guards know you are there for the week, and they have the chairs all reserved for you each day. We also have at least one of two other families who are there with us, and they're happy to set us up all together. Also great is the ability to use the facilities at the "Ramada" now "The Islands" Hotel next door. We love to enjoy the swim up bar in the afternoon, or the oceanfront bar to have a cocktail in the evening! The whole property is clean and well taken care of and we love feeling comfortable for our almost teenagers to explore some on their own. The location couldn't be better with its proximity to "The Boardwalk", we enjoy being able to walk to dinner with our group or enjoy some shopping just a nice short walk down the beach! Be sure you don't skip out on renting a boat and spending the day at Crab Island;we do this each year and its everyone's favorite day of the trip, makes for a wonderfully unique experience! We also love spending a evening wandering the shops at Harborwalk just a few miles away. There is lots to do nearby, but also plenty of space to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting that we also find ourselves wishing to stay for a 2nd week! We have come to the Destin West Condos from Upstate New York for two years now and we will not stay using anyone other then Coastal Vibe Vacations again for our annual trip!

Condo 404 was clean, comfortable, and best of all right on the beach. We rented 404 not knowing exactly how many of our family of 8 would be able to make it. On first entering the condo I was happy to find the pics matched the condo perfectly. It was beautifully decorated & the view was amazing. After settling in we found the condo to have everything we needed to feel at home & the master bedrooms bed was unbelievably comfortable. So much so our own bed at home is a little disappointing now. And they did not overlook making your day at the beach comfortable as well. The beach cart they provided made getting to the beach easy and held chairs, toys, towels, bags and even had an ice chest attached to it so you could pretty much stay the whole day without a worry. And the boogie boards, beach toys and extra beach chairs make packing for the trip super easy. Plus the beach service made it even easier; just let them know what days you want chairs and they will have it ready for you. They were also kind enough to offer to call the lifeguard to drive a member of our party with some mobility restrictions to the chair if needed. Though thankfully he was able to make it because the chairs were close enough to the ramps to make it accessible. Which if you have a family member with disabilities the whole resort was very handicap friendly. Location wise you were able to be on the beach, at the pool, jacuzzi, splash pad, gym or grill area within 5 minutes or less. And you were within a short walking distance to resteraunts (Rocking Tacos was amazing!!) & the bay side of the resort which provided shelter from the wind on super windy days. Plus the beach bar at the hotel next door which you will have access too had amazing beverages & was a 2 min walk when down on the beach or pool. Pro tip— try the Rum Runner, the punch bucket and don’t feel any shame in relaxing within the gated splash pad while the kids run wild. Sometimes parents need to not worry about sand and surf. ;) And your just down the road from some of Destin and Fort Walton’s best resteraunts. But the best part of this condo was the kindness and availability of the property manager David Jenn. He answered all our questions, was quick to respond & made sure that we were satisfied throughout the whole stay. Which is a blessing to a family that desperately needs a relaxing vacation!! Overall I’d say this condo is the perfect pick for a family wanting fun for the kids and some adult fun for themselves as well.

We stayed in a different unit than usual this year because the one we normally rent was booked. Loved this one even more! Very nicely decorated. Weather wasn't the best this year due to Irma but that's the chance you take. Enjoyed our stay none the less and will likely be back next year.

Where do I begin? The condo is perfect in every way and the owners are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. The resort has so many amenities and was perfect for family vacation (my toddlers LOVED the splash pad). We always felt safe and taken care of during our stay. I don't even have to tell you how perfect the water and sand are. We plan to go back next year for sure!

From the moment we arrived we had an enjoyable trip. This was my first trip to Florida. We were there for my sister's "Destination Wedding". The condo we stayed in was spacious, beautiful and clean. Our party rented 20 different condo units and we all visited each other. If you want a unit on the bottom floor, you give up the view that you get on the upper floors, but, you gain easy access to the pool/hot tub. You also get a little patio which holds more people than the balcony. Bring a couple of extra lawn chairs if you want to all enjoy your coffee on the patio in the mornings. Unit 116 had the largest patio and gave us the opportunity to get together there. The pool and hot tub are clean and the little kiddies enjoyed the kiddie pool and the splash pad. The condos are a great way to enjoy some family fun time. This was my first VRBO rental, but, it won't be my last. Thanks for a memorable trip!! * * * * * (five stars)

Beautiful and "homey" condo with a fantastic view of the beach and ocean. Easy access to everything- pool, beach, and even just across the bridge to the other side of the road, the lazy river and another pool. The condo is so clean and spacious, and has everything you need. Wonderful places to eat, harbor, putt-putt, shopping are right there beside you ( walking distance). It is also very short, easy drive into the main area of Destin if you so chose. We enjoyed our time here so much! This was our first time staying in this area and at this resort. We have stayed in numerous condos at Destin West, but Gulfside 404 was definitely one of the best. It has a great view and it is extremely clean and updated.

Two days before the start of our vacation I received a phone call from David, the property manager, advising me that the condo had just been upgraded with new countertops, showers and bathroom fixtures. When we arrived we were so excited to see the condo. Everything was spotless and perfect. The upgrades were beautiful. The decor is beachy and fun but not over the top. There were many designer touches yet I didnt live in fear that my kids 7, 11, 13 would break something. The bedding was very comfortable and the condo itself was quiet. I felt it was much more quiet than the Bay side where we stayed last year. Every morning about 7:30, we sat on the balcony with coffee and watched the dolphins playing just off the sandbar. This condo comes with beach service. The week we were here, the resort didn't seem to be incredibly busy, but it was so great to just be able to walk down to the beach without lugging all sorts of chairs and umbrellas, and boom... a perfect spot in the sand reserved just for you. There are also sand toys, a cart and additional chairs included. We only used the toys, because with the beach service we didn't need everything else. We thoroughly enjoyed the Margaritaville machine. Our friends also staying at the resort visited us everyday afternoon after the beach and we made slushies for the kids and fruity drinks for the adults and brought them down to the pool to enjoy another hour or so of sun before getting ready for dinner. After a week of vacation, I am always ready to go home, but not this time. I could have easily stayed another week. If you are thinking about this condo, you will not regret it. It has everything you could need or want for a perfect vacation at a beautiful beach resort.

The minute you walk through the door, you feel at home. The condo was beautifully decorated with warm colors and beach decor. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The kitchen was equipped with all the needed appliances to cook a feast fit for a king all the way down to a simple piece of toast. The condo was spacious enough for our family of seven to feel comfortable and not crowded. We were walking distance of the beach, pool, beach bar, lazy river, many restaurants, and even a gift shop. The bedrooms were very welcoming and were so cozy that even miles away from home you felt relaxed and comfortable once you laid in bed for the night. The TV's in each room was a great added bonus so everyone could watch what they liked once tucked in for bed. The master bath, as well as the jack and jill bath, were beautifully decorated. The beach cart, chairs, sand toys, float, and umbrella came in handy for a day at the beach. The free beach service was a treat. The pool and hot tub were a great way to unwind after sitting on the beach all day, being able to lay out across the sand and return to wash off and take a dip in the pool as well as the hot tub made the entire day just tie together perfectly. Family members who came to visit were envious of our beautiful and welcoming place. Having a washer and dryer in the condo was very useful. It was very kind of Mr. Jenn to supply us with 2 roles of paper towels, 4 roles of toilet paper, 2 laundry pods, 2 dish washing pods, 1 sponge, dish liquid, and several trash bags to get us through the week. The extra pillows and blankets in the closet came in handy. I have to say that Mr. Jenn thought of everything. We will definitely be returning next year. My family and all who came to visit thank you for the wonderful, beautiful, and welcoming place. It truly felt like a home away from home.

The property was beautiful and so relaxing. Our granddaughter called it our new house...that is exactly what it was...home for 7 days. It felt like home. We loved the location in that we were close to everything we wanted to see and do, without being crowed. The beach was so clean and beautiful. The kids either wanted to be at the beach or at the pool. Our condo was so warm and inviting providing the perfect place to relax and unwind. The food, activities, and activities were amazing. It is a wonderful place to bring the entire family. Many of the activities were in walking distance of the condo. We will be returning and staying at Destin West Gulfside again. We HIGHLY recommend considering Destin West Gulfside as your family vacation destination. The Townsends

This condo is decorated beautifully. It has pottery barn bedding, beautiful blue patio furniture, fully stocked kitchen with a margaritaville machine, a cart and 3 ocean chairs in the unit. We needed nothing additional in our weeks stay here. It was absolutely perfect. No detail was over looked. The view to the Atlantic is perfect from here. This is by far the nicest unit I have stayed in at Destin West. The owner is fabulous to work with. He is very quick to respond to any request or concern you may have. This was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to stay here again!

We booked our condo with David. He was very helpful and responded to me very quickly. We were thankful that he also provided a pack n play for the baby (one less thing to pack). We had 17 family members in 3 different condos. It was a great family vacation. The condo had great furnishings, comfortable beds and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The complex was fantastic. The kids loved all the pools (not to mention the movie at the pool), lazy river, and the fountains provided by the Ramada. The beach was clean, and very nice staff working with the chair and umbrella set up. We were able to see dolphins from our patio and the fireworks from the pier where some of the best we have seen. There is so much to do in and around Ft Walton. We rented a pontoon in the bay. The kids enjoyed the Pirate Cruise, Mardi Gras parade and local amusement areas. My favorite restaurant was Dewey's (both on the bay and harbor side). We look forward to returning to Destin West and working with David in the future.

I almost hate to write this review because I want to keep this one to myself. The more people that find out about this gem is going to interfere with my ability to rent this one again. This location was perfect for us. The beach and pool view was awesome. We are no strangers to Destin West Beach and Bay Resort. This is an annual vacation destination for us. We usually stay in the beach facing condos and this time we thought we would change up and try one of the beach and pool view condos. We really lucked up with this one and found the perfect spot, the best of both worlds. The layout is one that we were already use to so that was a bonus. It accommodates 4 adults and 4 kids comfortably. The owner was great and easy to deal with. There is really just nothing negative to say about this rental and it's location. Please don't be a condo hog, we would like to go back.

I took my kids and grandkids the second week of June and it was wonderful. I have stayed on Okaloosa before and also Panama City and this was our favorite. The resort is very clean and safe. The pools were never over crowded and the beach was great. David Jenn made booking our trip easy and he is very accessible. I can't say enough and hope to go back next summer.

We stayed here for 9 nights, and would LOVE to have stayed for 9 more! Everything was perfect. The view is great, beds are super comfortable, kitchen is well-stocked, the patio furniture is nice and sturdy (unlike the cheap, flimsy outdoor furnishings we've had in other condos)...literally everything is great, down to the decor and the size & quality of the Tvs. David was super nice and easy to work with, and we will definitely rent from him in the future.
